Technology transfer services: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

World in your hands

Since 2010 Oxentia has been working with the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) through an established Technology Transfer Partnership arrangement to assist with commercialisation structures, processes and intellectual property policy. Oxford University Innovation is closely involved with the planning, internal marketing, and evaluation of invention disclosures and provides direct support to UKM technology transfer staff through an experienced entrepreneur in residence. In addition, we also offer training support and coaching to technology transfer staff at UKM as well as offering advice to the CEOs of their spin-out companies. The University knowledge and technology transfer office has now been restructured and the process for evaluating and protecting IP has been streamlined. Successful outcomes of this relationship include several licensing deals with industry and the creation of spinout companies that are successfully selling products to customers in Malaysia and across the region.
